what is Polyimide Flexible Printed Circuit Board (FPC)

Immersion Gold is a surface finish process used on Flex PCBs to protect copper traces from oxidation and ensure reliable solder joints. The process involves immersing the PCB in a solution containing gold ions, which deposit onto the exposed copper surfaces. Immersion Gold is a preferred surface finish for FPCs because it is flat, smooth, and provides excellent solderability.
